Words matter

People blow a lot of hot air (especially coming off of a really rough election year). Still, I try to be very thoughtful with the words coming out of my mouth.  I will not compliment someone if I don’t really mean it, and I will not bash someone because I probably don’t know the whole story.  Moreover, my friends know if I say I am going to do something, IT WILL HAPPEN.  When I make a decision and share it verbally, it’s as good as done.  What you put out into the world with your words makes a difference.  I pay attention to what people say and if their words and actions don’t match up, RED FLAG.

My Top 2 Pet Peeves

1) Complainers.  I have no patience for people who complain about the same thing over and over and DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.  You are wasting my time and you are wasting your energy.  Put your negative complaining energy towards making a change.  Get creative, figure it out, and stop talking to me about it.

2) Excuses. I have no patience for excuses.  If you forgot to do something, just tell me you forgot.  Don’t give me bullsh*t reasons why.  I don’t care why, all I know is it didn’t happen.  It’s OK.  I’m more annoyed about you force feeding me bogus reasons.  It didn’t happen, own it.

Even though we’re grown-ups, we like fun stuff too!

My hubby and I are gearing up for a family vacation to an all-inclusive beach resort with our little ones. Our passports are READY!  My hubs and I were talking about making fun bags for the girls to survive the travel (two planes each way), and then we realized we would like someone to make fun bags for us too.  Yes, we’re grown-ups, but who doesn’t like a bag of fun surprises?  Well, next date night activity will include hitting up $5 Below and the $1 Target section to find stuff to put in the girls’ bags, but we’re going to World Market to create fun bags for each other. We’re going to keep the bags a surprise for each other.  This means shopping with two carts and checking out separately so we don’t spoil the fun.  Corny?  Yes.  Super fun?  For sure!

Do you get “friend contact high?”

Do you have friends who leave you walking on air after spending time with them? I have friends who seriously make the world such a better and happier place, when we are together I feel invincible and energized.  I hope everyone gets to experience something similar.
